Statistics, Knowledge and Policy: Key Indicators to Inform Decision Making

This volume compares various approaches for developing key indicator systems that provide reliable information spanning the social, economic, and environmental domains. The book contains the proceedings of the World Forum on Key Indicators held in Palermo in 2004. The policy-oriented forum brought together high-level statistical policymakers from governments, experts from academia and international organizations, journalists, and decisionmakers from the business community. This was the first coordinated worldwide effort to study the development and implications of large-scale systems of public information for developed countries.
