We Live Inside Metaphors: Case Studies in Metaphor: A Multidisciplinary Analysis

What if metaphors are not just figures of speech?

What if they are the invisible structures that shape how we think, speak, and understand reality?

In We Live Inside Metaphors, Atem Moonz explores the profound role metaphors play in human cognition and culture. Drawing insights from philosophy, linguistics, cognitive science, economics, politics, and art, this interdisciplinary work reveals how metaphor operates as one of the most powerful tools of the human mind.

We often assume metaphors are decorative language used in poetry or literature. Yet metaphors quietly structure our everyday thinking.

We spend time.
We defend arguments.
We follow life paths.
We build knowledge.

These expressions reveal deeper conceptual frameworks that guide how people interpret experience.

Through a series of engaging case studies, this book explores how metaphors shape:

• Scientific models of the universe

• Theories about the human mind

• Political language and social conflict

• Economic systems and market behavior

• Artistic expression and cultural meaning

From the metaphor of the universe as a machine to the brain as a computer, from politics as war to life as a journey, the book demonstrates how metaphors influence the development of knowledge and the organization of society.

Understanding these metaphors reveals something remarkable:

Human beings do not merely use metaphors.

We live inside them.

By uncovering the hidden metaphors embedded in language, readers gain a new perspective on how ideas evolve and how reality itself is interpreted.

This book invites readers to rethink language, thought, and the invisible conceptual structures shaping the modern world.
