A basketball journey like no other. The incredible autobiography of a college season at Marquette, a summer with Hall of Fame coach, Rick Majerus, and a court-side seat with the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.

Small town. Undersized. Not enough talent. John Willkom heard it all as a young basketball player growing up in rural Wisconsin. Despite the odds, John dedicated his life to the game, an arduous journey that challenged the very core of even the most disciplined. As John’s hard work lands him amongst basketball’s elite, it is the workouts, the people, and the behind-the-scenes interactions that not only change his skill set but how he lives his life. Both heartfelt and funny, Walk-On Warrior takes you into the mind of an athlete from John’s perspective. Take a journey that will reignite your passion for life, challenge your perspectives on toughness and fear, and ultimately, inspire you to maximize your talent.

Review

“There is no question in my mind that John would be able to excel in almost any venue because of his work ethic, discipline, and attention to detail.” –Rick Majerus

“One of the best basketball books of all time!” –BookAuthority

“John can motivate people and get them to exceed their potential. He is an organized, thorough, and a detailed driven leader.” –
Tom Crean

“Most of all, the basketball content really illustrates how grueling and physically demanding playing higher level hoops can be. It’s a great gut check for any aspiring teen hardwood warrior to see what Willkom endured and did to stay relevant on the court.”
-Jockbrarian

“This book would be a great recommendation to young players who are thinking about continuing their basketball careers beyond the high school level. Walk-On Warrior can be a useful tool to communicate that dedication to the game can result in building relationships and values that are much more important than one’s individual stats.”
True Baller Books

“One of the top 8 basketball books for Mamba Mentality.” –
