About the Author
Norman Ellis was born and raised in Outwood, near Wakefield. He was educated at the village’s Ledger Lane Council School and Rothwell Grammar School. He worked for three years in Wakefield as an engineering draughtsman, before obtaining a similar post at an Ossett firm where he stayed for thirty-nine years. Norman took early retirement in 1989 to concentrate on his leisure interests, the main one being local history. He has had previous industry and transport publications concentrating in Wakefield, Dewsbury and the Spen Valley.
