Book Description

A new play from the best-selling author of Eight.

Kate Bane returns home to her eccentric family for a winter weekend to introduce her new boyfriend. As the snow falls, mobile phone signal fails and the trains stop running. Kate finds herself searching with increasing desperation for an authentic account of her family’s past.

Ella Hickson’s new painfully comic excavation of a family history asks if there is an authorised version of the past, or just the one we can live with?

Editorial Reviews

Review

The theatrical voice of her generation. –Guardian

The writing is crisp and sharply observed, and Hickson’s ability to catch the minds, hearts, thought processes and different speech styles of her characters is remarkable in so young a writer…remember the name, for I suspect we will be hearing a lot more from her. –Daily Telegraph on Eight
