Editorial Reviews
Review
I recommend this book to every teacher with responsibility for starting children as successful literacy learners. Its mix of common sense, erudition and human warmth together with a generous sprinkling of practical teaching tips will inspire teachers and children alike. I for one can’t wait to read right through the excellent bibliography, or to urge colleagues working with both successful and struggling young readers to make full use of this handbook. –Penny Tyack, in Education Today Vol 62 No 4.
Essential resource to support literacy development. –Bernadette Turner, Lecturer, Dudley College.
There are lots of useful examples of observations and children’s work. Its also helpful that different age groups are covered, to show progression in the work. –Michelle Williams, Early Years Lecturer, Macclesfield College.
Excellent resource. Up to date, relevant information, background and practical implementation. Not overwhelming for those new to early years and infant teaching. –Sarah Barton, Senior Lecturer, University of Portsmouth.
Fantastic information for both students and tutors. Really helpful. –Stephanie Schofield, Child Care Team Leader, Newcastle College.
