Book Description
In this latest Hite Report, Dr Hite examines friendship and work relationships between women. She explores various definitions of such friendships: what are the limits, does it include sex? – and sets these in their historical, societal and family contexts. And with high profile media stars such as Madonna, Britney Spears and Ellen de Generis very publicly exploring the nature of female friendship and women everywhere questioning its nature, Dr Hite’s extensively researched findings couldn’t be more timely. The various Hite Reports (on Female and Male Sexuality, the Family, and Sex and business) have sold over 50 million copies worldwide. The initial Hite Report, the “Hite Report on Female Sexuality”, was recently named as one of the 100 key books of the 20th century by “The Times”.

About the Author
Shere Hite (born November 2, 1942, Saint Joseph, Missouri) is an American-born German sex educator and feminist. Her sexological work has focused primarily on female sexuality. Hite builds upon biological studies of sex by Masters and Johnson and by Alfred Kinsey. She also references theoretical, political and psychological works associated with the feminist movement of the 1970s, such as Anne Koedt’s The Myth of the Vaginal Orgasm. After attacks on herself and her work, she renounced her United States citizenship in 1995 to become German.
