About the Author
Dr. Anand Shankar Soundararajan is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Junior Consultant in Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital based in Chennai, India. He completed his MCh in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from Madras Medical College, Chennai, and his MS in General Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Puducherry. His clinical interests include patient-centered communication, surgical innovation, and preoperative counseling in cardiothoracic care.
He has authored and co-authored multiple publications in national and international journals, including case reports and AI-focused opinion pieces in cardiac surgery. He was awarded the First Prize at ISTSCON 2023 for his work on an AI-based scoring system for predicting thoracic surgery complications. He has a strong academic background and a passion for simplifying surgical science for the public.
