That said, once opened, the book is hard to close. Swansons writing style is similar to a good conversation with a friend. She writes in a visual way, so that one can see exactly what she describes. The reader feels that they are at her side, whether driving a perilous road, bargaining at the marketplace, dodging snakes, or sipping wine amid the vineyards.

Sandra J. Swanson is a San Francisco based journalist. Her articles and photographs appear in newspapers and magazines in the U.S.A. and in France. A linguist, she can communicate in French, Spanish, Italian, and German, allowing her to travel off the Europe’s beaten paths. She has traveled extensively to write articles on fashion, yachting, gardens, food, and travel. Her next book, “Cinderellas Garden,” is in progress.
