Radiation Dosimetry Biology and Protection

This book highlights the concepts of radiation dosimetry, radiobiology and radiation protection in medical imaging clinical practice. The first module introduces the concepts of radiation dosimetry and dose measurements in clinical practice including dose monitoring for radiation protection. The second module considers the biological bases for radiation protection and radiotherapy. Finally, the third module covers fundamental principles and practice of radiation protection including legal and regulatory frameworks at local and international levels, and radiation protection in practical medical procedures.

Dr. Xiaoming Zheng is Senior Lecturer in medical physics at Charles Sturt University, Australia. He has been teaching medical radiation science courses at CSU since 1998 including radiation dosimetry biology and protection subject. He served as Presiding Officer of Radiation Safety Committee at CSU and represented CSU at Australasian Radiation Protection Society from 2009-2019.
