Editorial Reviews

Review

Sam Hunter has written a book about using the alphabet to make text-based quilts and gives you 12 projects to try out the technique for yourselves. One alphabet is used for this book and resized for the different projects. Paper Piecing is the method used for putting together the letters and the description of the basic technique is well-explained and illustrated. A consideration of how to work upper and lower case letters is also included, and this is very helpful. The projects are fun and modern and are divided into different categories – celebration, communication, inspiration and decoration. The basic instructions on how to go about lettering in quilts is very clear and easily taken outside the book for your own projects. ― Workshop on the Web

For those who know my work, you will not be surprised that I LOVE THIS BOOK! I like things that please me, as well as entertain me, or make me laugh. These designs do all that. All the designs include paper-pieced wording. You can get an idea from the cover of the book about some of the fun things you can make. ― Canadian Quilter Magazine
