Editorial Reviews
Review
Nicholas J. Pace offers a new twist on traditional read-and-discuss case study books. Through video footage, insightful questions, and suggested readings, we have the chance to observe future principals’ handling of difficult teachers, irate parents, and wayward students—the issues principals routinely face in the real world. A great learning tool. (Todd Whitaker)
The Principal’s Hot Seat provides valuable real-life scenarios for use in preparing school leaders. The realistic scenarios require future principals to be reflective from a ‘balcony view’ and are tied to leadership standards. The real world challenges practicing principals with situations very much like those included in Pace’s book. Preparation programs will be well served to help future leaders thoughtfully work through such situations. (Daniel H. Smith, Ph.D.)
