Other areas discussed include privatizing social security, managing pension risk, and how pension plans affect people who change jobs or get laid off. The book presents policy proposals for both 401(k) plans and defined benefit plans, and proposes a new type of hybrid pension plan as a way to structure pensions to share risks between workers and employers.
