When used appropriately music can be a powerful tool to support and enrich learning. Developed for music specialists and nonspecialists, this annotated bibliography helps you find print and nonprint materials that support the integration of music across the K-8 curriculum. Arranged by subject area and topics within disciplines, the annotations describe the works and provide information on format and media, musical arrangement, individual song titles (for recorded material), and grade appropriateness in addition to standard bibliographic information. Emphasis is on educational resources and materials with practical applications rather than on theoretical works. Author/title and subject indexes provide quick and easy access.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

In this discussion of major serials management issues, Nisonger (Collection Evaluation in Academic Libraries, Libraries Unlimited, 1992) first defines serials and examines their history. He then addresses serials microevaluation criteria including selection, deselection, document delivery, and budgeting for serials and in the next chapter addresses other serials collection management functions, serials decision models, core serials lists, and approaches to serials macroevaluation. The rest of the volume looks at the application of citation analysis, analysis of periodical use, journal ranking methods, serials processing, vendors, copyright, electronic journals, and serials automation and its standards. Extensive notes and a lengthy reading list follow each chapter. The epilog forecasts trends. Three appendixes provide an annotated guide to sources of statistical data, an annotated bibliography of serial bibliographies, and a listing of web resources. The most current title on the topic, Nizonger’s scholarly work definitely emphasizes the hot issues of electronic journals and serials automation. For academic and large public libraries.?Susan C.
