About the Author

Dr. Mikkonen is Research Associate in the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, where he also completed his Ph.D. In 2008, Dr. Mikkonen was a Visting Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University, California, where he inaugurated a new research project concentrating on the cultural Cold War and its impact on the Soviet Union.
