About the Author

William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest playwright the world has seen. He produced an astonishing amount of work; 37 plays, 154 sonnets, and 5 poems. He died on 23rd April 1616, aged 52, and was buried in the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford.

Noel Cassidy has been teaching for over 30 years, with experience in the UK and New Zealand. He writes regularly about literature, teaching and allied topics. He has been assessing A Level English Literature for over 25 years, and has trained teachers across the world in teaching, learning and assessment.

Mike Gould is a former Head of English and an experienced author who has written over 150 books and other resources for teachers and students, including GCSE and IGCSE textbooks and digital support material.
