Ashley Rimmer is a seasoned transport and operations manager with over 45 years of experience in the logistics industry. He began his career as a driver and has since held various positions, including Transport & Compliance Manager at Transam Trucking Ltd.

Throughout his extensive career, he has developed a deep passion for the logistics sector, which remains as strong today as it was on his first day. His commitment to the industry is further exemplified by his status as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT) and a Technical Member of IOSH, reflecting his dedication to professional excellence and continuous development.

In addition to his managerial roles, he has contributed to industry knowledge as the editor of Lowe’s Transport Manager’s and Operator’s Handbook 2025 55th Edition, a comprehensive guide offering crucial insights into the transport and haulage industry.

He is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, an ancient livery company dedicated to the transport and logistics profession, further cementing his standing in the industry. He is based in Norwich, UK.

David Lowe was a freelance writer well known in the road transport industry, particularly for his involvement with training for the professional competence examinations.
