From the Inside Flap
Sam Larkin, former environmental law enforcement officer and ex-con, is no stranger to violence. He is coaxed – under false pretenses-from the serenity of his lowcountry home in South Carolina by karen Chaney, a federal officer and Sam’s erstwhile lover. Sam soon finds himself drawn into an investigation of Louisiana Senator Thornton Hunnycutt, the man about to be tapped for a vice-presidential candidacy…and the former judge who unjestly sent Sam to prison twelve years prior.
