This book offers an invaluable introduction to Integrative Transdisciplinarity (ITD). Integrative Transdisciplinarity (ITD) prepares scholars to contextualize, interpret, integrate, and develop new perspectives and approaches. It is grounded in complex thought, frames inquiry as a creative process and embraces the full humanity of the researcher. Its goal is to provide a conceptual context for conducting meaningful research with the greatest amount of freedom and creativity, while doing justice to the complexity of both researcher and research topic. Alfonso Montuori is Professor in the Transformative Inquiry Department at California Institute of Integral Studies, and founder of the Center for Creative Futures. Alfonso’s parents were Dutch and Italian, and he grew up multilingual living in the Netherlands, Lebanon, Greece, and England. He has taught at Central South University in Hunan, People’s Republic of China and was Distinguished Visiting Professor in the School of Fine Arts at Miami University, Ohio and the Department of Dynamic and Clinical Psychology at La Sapienza University of Rome. He is the author of several books and numerous articles on transdisciplinarity, the future, creativity, leadership, and complexity and the co-editor of World Futures: The Journal of New Paradigm Research. Alfonso lives in San Francisco with his wife, award-winning jazz singer Kitty Margolis, with whom he performs and records on saxophone.
