This study investigates the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment and the economic growth for a panel of 55 countries from 1994 to 2010. Two models have been developed using two measures of the human capital. The first model uses the Average Years of Schooling (AYS) as a measure of human capital shows that the effect of FDI on growth depends upon the extent of the host country’s absorptive capacity. In particular, the most important factor for FDI is the human capital. The second model using Gini index proved that the presence of inequality is noxious to FDI and economic growth
