Book Description

In a world in transition and an era of transformation, Mahtaney calls for reflection and an analysis of a wide canvas of global economic experience. Her new work initiates a thorough review of the strategies and policies that have been pursued over the past two decades. The economic meltdown compelled the beginning of the next phase of globalization and she contends that the future will see an increase in globalization. As crucial questions arise about the direction in which globalization is headed and the sustainability of economic growth and reform, the fundamental objective of this exciting work is to elucidate crucial insights about the next phase of development in the world economy.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“Piya Mahtaney’s latest publication is on sustainable development, a subject of immense contemporary relevance globally. Mahtaney ably deals with the subject matter. Her analysis of key elements required to sustain development is well-reasoned and raises pertinent issues. As she rightly observes, sustainability is the life line of the future and has far reaching implications in the economic, social and political spheres.” Minoo Shroff, Chairman, A.D Shroff Trust and President, Forum of Free Enterprise, India

“Mahtaney presents a fresh perspective on the economic situations in the US and the EU, which is achieved by comparing the systemic failings and current challenges of the two largest developed economic areas the Eurozone and the United States to the those of the biggest two emerging economies, India and China.” – Journal of Human Rights in the Commonwealth
