Editorial Reviews

Review

“Julie Lavender’s clever rhyming poetry and Kim Barnes’ colorful illustrations combine to create a story alive with joy and heart. Together, they show young readers how to create a fresh-from-the-oven gingerbread house – how to dress it up in sugary bling, and finally how to turn it into a gingerbread home full of family. This book is a cheerful, wintry treat – creative and heartfelt. The icing on the cake? It’s so easy to read aloud.” ––Sheila Turnage, author of the Newbery Honor Book THREE TIMES LUCKY, and many others.
