From the Author
If you are considering joining one of the top 100 organisations in UK, Europe or US, or are already in one, this book should contain everything you need. to help you decide on a choice or change of career, which organisations to apply to, and how to prepare so that you get through the selection process. Once you are in an organisation, there are internal selection processes which determine who makes Partner or crucial senior roles, and the same advice applies. Headhunters and agencies play a key role, and how headhunters operate and how you can make them work for you is covered fully.
As a psychologist and executive for 15 years I designed and ran selection processes for 2 major international organisations. Every executive has ambitions and one of mine was to sail the world. When I reckoned I could do this, our son was at University, deciding on a career and starting to apply for jobs. From the remote Pacific, communication was difficult so I had to compress all my advice, cutting out padding and non-essential language, but including examples of cv’s, psychometrics, interview questions, and an assessment centre. After a while his friends started to ask for copies of the emails for themselves and I decided to put them together into a book.
How to Books were excellent and keen to publish it, and the final editing was done by satellite link between the UK and New Zealand, Australia Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and India, wherever Intrepid of Dover, our yacht was at the time.
Choosing or changing a career and getting through selection is different for each individual. This book should provide what you need, but if, having read the book you have any individual issues I am happy to respond on an individual basis free of charge. Good luck in your career!
