Chapter One
Peace
Peace is when the space between reality and time transcends the boundaries of the Chaos of this world. Peace provides calm and serenity that can explode any confusion to dispel all trouble and emits light in a life of darkness.
“Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus.” (I Peter 5:14)
Peace Is
Peace is allowing hope to see beyond the panic of the moment. Peace can live where love abounds. Peace will bring joy, hope, security, faith, and abundant living. Peace will put a smile on your face when all around you seems impossible. Peace will speak to a noisy crowd as a soft gentle hand that projects comfort in a storm among sharks.
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, …” (Romans 5:1)
Peace Be With You
Let the peace of God dwell in you richly. e peace of God that is beyond our understanding will provide us all sufficiency for life. Let God give you the peace that will extend your life in ways you can never imagine. God is a God of peace.
“… and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh.” (Ephesians 2:17)
My Father
You know me and my faith. I know that you are an awesome God and that you will work it out no matter what comes my way. You know me and I am thankful for that. Thank you God for knowing me and loving me in spite of how I behave, regardless of what I fail to do, and even when I feel unlovable. Thank you for showing me that I have value.
“For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29)
Why
There are times when I feel the path I walk is a lonely, still, gray, sad road which has manifested itself through the rigors of day to day living. There are times when the winds seem to blow as if to blow me down. There are times when the whole world seems to be against me and I don’t know why. ere are times when it seems that others look for the worst in me to see me fall down, or hurt.
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.” (Psalm 37:3)
Why Oh Why?
What is it about me that causes such competitive efforts on the part of others? What is it about me that causes some to want to show that they are one up on me? What is it about me that seems to cause some to want to share how superior they are to me or how much better off they have it than me?
“But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.” (Psalm 73:28)
Let Me Be
Let me be. ere is so much more of me than you can see. ere is so much more to me than you are willing to acknowledge and experience. I cannot live in an environment when I cannot be me; an environment where I cannot breathe; nor an environment which is limiting. I must be me. I must be free to stretch my legs, arms, mind, and spirit to a level of relief, growth, dream setting, and abundant living.
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” (I John 5:10)
Let Me Live
Let me live. Life is brief and will pass away like a vapor. Life is not promised to you or me. Life is a gift. I will live life now in its fullness. I will live life with a grateful heart and excitement. I will trust in God with all my heart and allow Jesus to be my guide. I will live in the present. Choose now, choose wisely, but choose. As for me, let me live in your presence, Oh Lord!
“… he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live;” (John 11:25)
Let Me Live for God
As I ponder my life and its meaning, let me live for God. As I look back at my traveled path, let me live for God. As I move forward into the future, let me live for God. As I stand here today, let me live for God.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
How Can I
How can I go on when I can’t see what lies ahead? How can I dream when I don’t know the possibilities? How can I work when I don’t know my abilities? How can I live when all I know is how to survive? How can I give when all has been taken from me? How can I win, when all I know is how I have failed?
“Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.” (Psalm 131:3)
How Can I Stand
How can I stand when life seems to push me down? How can I share my talents when I see no contributions to offer? How can I know someone else, if I am struggling to get to know myself? How can I make do; when I am used to doing without? How can I love when love seems like a mystical illusion that sparks the heart and leaves trails of longing? How can I stand?
“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.” (I Thessalonians 5:8)
How Will I
How will I go forward? How will I move from this spot? How will I see myself in a better place? How will I accept the good in me? How will I do the things that are good for me? How will I see the blessings in my life? How will I know that I have value? How will I learn to be brave and take courage? How will I?
“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24)
Hope
Hope is when you know that life, dreams, and love are alive and live inside of you. Hope is not seeing your way, but going forward anyway. Hope is thinking of how things will work out even though there is no evidence that it will. Hope is putting a smile in your heart before putting it on your face.
“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” (Romans 8:24)
Hope Is
Hope is believing in others and being hopeful that God has placed good in all men. Hope is looking at the treasures of life that God has so richly blessed us with. e clear quiet waters, the clouds in the blue sky, the colors of the fragrant flowers that smell of nature, the smiles of joy on the faces of those who know that God has blessed them with another day.
“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5)
Hope Will
Hope will bring you peace love, joy, hope, and life. Hope will provide you the security of knowing that God will see you through. Hope will free you from worry, pacing, and fear. Hope will heal your heart. Hope will bring you from despair to deliverance. Hope will bring you closer to God. Put on hope, hope that God keeps his promises.
“That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:” (Psalm 78:7)
Did You Know Me When
Did you know me when I was young, innocent with scars and pains? Did you know me before I was negatively affected by the confusion of the world, and cares of life? Did you know me when I was carefree, full of hope and dreams? Did you know me when I looked forward to each new day and what excitement it would bring to my life? Did you know me when I embraced the joys of life with open arms?
“… and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Did You Know Me
Did you know me when my life was young and alive with possibilities? Did you know me when I soared through life and was able to accomplish multiple tasks, challenges, obstacles, hills, mountains, and difficulties with a charge for life?
“Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.” (Galatians 6:18)
Did You Know My Struggles
Did you know me when I was all alone? Did you know me when pain and fear were so great that I didn’t know if I wanted to face another day? Did you know me when life seemed to have little optimism, energy, life support, or source of strength?
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)
I Knew Me
Did you know me when I was willing to press on beyond the present situations, challenges, or future realities? I knew me when life was up, when life was down, when time seemed to just be. I knew me when darkness was all around me and there was no sign of light or relief. I knew me when others said, if I were you I would live for myself and do as the Romans do. I knew me when the sun didn’t seem to shine for periods of time. I knew that life was more than what we see, more than what we know, more than what we hope, or dream.
“Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” (Ephesians 6:24)
I Knew Me When
I knew and know that by one day at a time, and faith, God will see me through all things. I knew that God had a blessing for me. I know that God is good and that he has never left me alone. I know God has blessed me with abundant living.
“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:2)
I Know Now
I know now that life is more than what I see and feel. I know now that I have a great deal to offer. I know now that my life is not my own. I know now that I am responsible for blessings of others. I know now that the lord put me here for a reason. I know now that I am a better person because of what I have experienced. I know now that I matter to God.
“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:11)
Dear Lord
Dear Lord, help me to be who you want me to be. Help me to know that my life is not my own but I am your property. Dear Lord, help me to know that I do not have to know the way, just to follow you because you will lead me all the way. Dear Lord, help me to walk by faith.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
My Lord
My Lord I need you in my life today and everyday. My Lord my way seems dark and dreary. My Lord I feel disconnected and like a lone solider. Help me to stand for you Lord when my way seems hard. My Lord let me see the life you would have me to live.
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” (Psalm 62:5)
