From the Author

On every one of our courses the phrase that keeps coming up in different guises is always associated with the word `respect’, the most common phrase, `I’m entitled to respect…… from my customers……my boss…my staff etc’

As inter personal skills trainers with a number of years of experience between us in training people how to be confident, self assured and more fulfilled in life, we have sensed a growing need by individuals and organisations to receive bite size learning, in easily readable chunks.

Our book is “solution based” for those situations that the average person comes across, finds difficult to handle and gets extremely stressed by. Our books offer common sense tips that everyone can apply immediately in the work place and in their social lives.

Assertive behaviour in most cultures is increasingly desirable. People live with greater expectations than before – insistent demands – a relentless high speed and hectic lifestyle. We believe assertion provides a way of reconciling the myriad factors and demands that make up modern day living.

Assertion is about:
– recognising that your needs are important and so are others
– showing respect to others’ needs whilst at the same time encouraging them to respect yours

The key theme in Assertion is not my way or your way but a better way. We hope you enjoy the journey.
