Over this time period, these talented hunting breeds, which may have originally developed from other hunting-dog variations, slowly transformed into the breed that we know and respect today – the English Foxhound. Variations of the breed were frequently portrayed in writings, works of famous painters and creations of early well-respected and talented sketchers and scupltors. Even today, the breed is regularly displayed in such works. The English Foxhound was first admired for its extraordinary hunting skills.
