Moses did it, Solomon did it and David did it quite often. When the glory of God was revealed and the Holy Spirit of God came upon them, they all sang songs of worship and praise.
The God of heaven, the only true God in which we serve, is an awesome God. As mentioned in the scriptures, “His love is everlasting.” It is God the Father, who sent his son, Jesus The Christ, to reconcile us back to him and offer salvation. Because of his wonderful obedience, that should be enough to put a smile on our faces, and start us to humming at a minimum.
It is definitely the genius of The Holy Spirit, that makes one want to celebrate God through song. In humility of heart, I just can’t stop praising God. One of my favorite lyrics is from a song titled, “We’re Marching on to Zion.” The lyricist wrote, “Let those refuse to sing, who never knew our God, but children of the Heavenly King, but children of the Heavenly King, may speak their joys abroad, may speak their joys abroad!” I love that song. I love singing my joys abroad about God’s mercy and love.
This collection of songs is designed to give God praises and glory. The lyrics and melodies are repetitive and simple on purpose. They endeavor to let one catch on real quick, whether alone or gathered together with a group or congregation. Once you have learned the melodies, feel free to sing them any way you want.
Let the Holy Spirit have its own free flow with you. Sing up tempo; sing them slower, it’s all OK as long as you enjoy praising God.
As we sing songs of our love for God and Jesus, every inspired lyricist (Moses, David, Solomon and every inspired lyricist this world has ever known) throughout the scriptures becomes complete in us, for we have seen the salvation of God. Wow, let us sing! Sing along with us unto our God. Let our voices blend and the celebration of our salvation continue!
