Book Description
Detoxing requires more than just completing an occasional protocol—it must become a way of life.
People know their bodies don’t feel good. Most people know they aren’t eating an optimal diet and that they are exposed to toxic elements in their environment. Because of this, detoxing has become more popular—almost trendy. However, the average person seeking to detox usually only looks as deep as the protocol and fails to educate themselves on the source of their chronic ailments.
Just as important as the physical act of detoxing is understanding how to minimize the toxins you are taking in. When you are educated about what you breathe, ingest, and absorb, you can make lifestyle changes that have a major impact on your body’s ability to function as designed. Changes like eating organic food, drinking clean water, switching certain personal care products, and taking quality supplements could drastically improve your health. Detoxing means so much more than occasionally completing a detox protocol, which is what you will learn from Dr. Dan Nuzum and his wife Gina in this book.
In Detox for Life you will learn:
- the source of many toxins and how to minimize them
- how toxins contribute to chronic illness and disease
- what nutrients your body needs to heal efficiently
- how supplements can fortify deficiencies in your diet
- why detoxification is critical to the healing processs
- four detox protocols for various levels of cleansing
- over 50 recipes to help guide healthy eating

About the Author
I was a sickly child with chronic bronchitis for the first three years of my life. It wasn t until my parents discovered natural medicine that things turned around for me. They gave me some herbal tinctures and I received a chiropractic adjustment, and experienced almost immediate and complete recovery. It was then my parents began the study of natural medicine and later became Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine so growing up with natural medicine was a way of life.
I saw natural medicine at work firsthand when my parents began adopting children. Eventually, they adopted 32 children, all of them with special needs and most of them with daily medication regimens. I assisted my siblings with various rehabilitation therapies as my parents began weaning them from the medications. I ll never forget the feeling of watching them regain alertness, and physical and mental health. I experienced true medicine in motion and decided very early on that naturopathy was what I wanted to do with my life.
I graduated from high school at fifteen. None of the naturopathic schools in the US would take me until I was eighteen in the meantime, I took as many pre-med courses as I could. As soon as I turned eighteen, I enrolled in naturopathic medical school at the Southern College of Naturopathic Medicine and North American College of Naprapathic Medicine.
While completing my degree, the Southern College of Naturopathic Medicine moved to Mexico, where I fulfilled a two-year internship. By the end of my internship, I was caring for 3,200 patients and witnessing the healing benefits of natural, medicinal techniques successfully treating patients with cancer, AIDS, and an outbreak of tuberculosis. Caring for all those people, watching their lives change simply because I shared what I had studied and what I had experienced as a child growing up, has forever inspired me to do my part in tipping the balance back in the direction of health. I was very blessed to be able to play a part in all of those healings and recoveries in Mexico, but my biggest blessing was that I met Gina while working there. We were married nine months later and began our adventure into marriage, parenthood, and natural medicine. I started my first clinic in Toledo, Ohio, where Gina served as a massage therapist and detox coach her knowledge and skills blending seamlessly with mine as the Naturopath. Later, we moved to Nampa, Idaho, where Gina and I manage our current practice and raise our five children ages six months to sixteen years old.
Most people have learned about us through my appearances on The Global Quest for the Cures, The Quest for the Cure Continues, The Truth About Cancer, and The Truth About Detox documentaries with Ty Bollinger. We are extremely grateful to Ty and his team for allowing our message of healing and hope to reach as many people as possible. Because of the interest that followed, it has helped us understand that we need to put as much of our information into a book as possible.
Gina and I have written this book together and it is our hope that through this content, you will derive a deeper understanding about the many sources of toxins, how they contribute to illness, and the process of detoxification helping you further develop your own understanding of your body s natural healing process.
