About the Author

Ioannis Giannakouros is a financial and regulatory risk consultant looking back at a 25-year career in financial services and risk consulting. Working for international consultancies and based in Zurich, Switzerland, he has advised global clients – banks, central banks, insurers/reinsurers, commodity traders, fintechs – on financial products and innovation, as well as management of their financial and non-financial (including regulatory) risks. He has been active in Cryptocurrencies, Crypto-Assets and Blockchain since 2015, bringing deep insight at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. He holds a PhD in applied & computational mathematics from Princeton University, an LL.M. in banking & finance law from the University of London, and an engineering degree from the National Technical University of Athens.
