Cornelia returns to college and then moves on to law school where she successfully has her husband’s case re-opened. Her efforts culminate in John’s release from prison.

About the Author
L. Alex Swan is Professor of Sociological Criminology, Clinical Sociology, and Sociotherapy at Texas Southern University. He is a former Chair of the Department of Sociology and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Presently, he is Chair of the Faculty Assembly/Senate. Professor Swan has published fifty-five articles in journals, magazines, and books. He has authored six books and co-authored five. He has appeared on C-Span and has been quoted in The New York Times, the Houston Chronicle, Ebony, and Jet. Professor Swan has appeared in hearings before a subcommittee on courts, civil liberties, and the administration of justice. His presentation on research and experimentation in prisons was published in the congressional record.
