This book contains papers presented at the Eighth International Conference on Modelling in Medicine and Biology, which was held on the island of Crete, May 26-28, 2009. Projections for advances in medical and biological technology will transform medical care and treatment. This is due in great part to the interaction and collaborations between the medical sciences and engineering. These advances will result in substantial progressions in health care and in the quality of life of the population. Computer models in particular have been increasingly successful in simulation biological phenomena.
