Egypt during the British occupation (1882-1922) was a strategically important site for securing British interests in the region. Most studies of Britons in Egypt during the occupation focus on the lives and activities of law-abiding British military and political elites. About the Author
Lanver Mak is Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Studies, University of London. He received his PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in 2002.
