Review
“Dr. Roberts has thoroughly revised and updated the third edition of Battered Women and Their Families, and the result is a comprehensive new work that retains revisions of the best chapters from the second edition while incorporating 12 new chapters. More than 60% of this edition contains new and valuable material….Many challenges, problems, intervention strategies, assessment and treatment methods, and empowerment approaches are documented in this book by one of the most brilliant clinical researchers in North America today–Dr. Albert Roberts–together with the highly experienced chapter author….This is the most practical, evidence-based, inspirational, and well-written book on family violence that I have read in the past 10 years. Every social worker, counselor, nurse, and domestic violence advocate should read this book.”
–From the Foreword by Barbara W. White, Dean and Centennial Professor in Leadership, School of Social Work, University of Texas at Austin. Former President, Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and Former President, National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
