She is the author of numerous books and articles in scholarly publications. Her published works on South Carolina include Historical Atlas of the Rice Plantations of the ACE Basin, A River in Time: A Cultural Study if the Yadkin/Pee Dee River System to 1825; and Medicine in Marlboro County, 1736 to 1980. A noted lecturer and teacher, Linder is currently completing a study of the rice plantations of Georgetown County. She resides in Columbia, South Carolina.
