Book Description

Commonly only declared feminists may fantasize about the great goddess. These brief contemplations are by a decidedly non-feminist man, who found her traces on his wanderings among the oldest power spots of Greece – that is, those of the ancient Great Goddess who ruled matriarchy before the Dorian men from the north dethroned her and converted Greece into a classical patriarchy. She is still very much alive in the landscape and in the oldest sanctuaries of Greece, and infused the Greek myths with her timeless knowledge of birth, death, and life.
Over many years I followed her from Amorgos and Naxos in the Cycladic Islands to Mycene, Eleusis, and Bassai in Arcadia, where Iktinos, the greatest architect of his time, left us a sophisticated temple to her memory.
My interpretations of her manifestations, interspersed with personal happenings, may not agree with those of the archeologists, but they might provide insights into the mythologems of our own subconscious.
The book is illustrated with drawings by the author.
Text size: 24 pages, 15 drawings
