Book Description

It has been my intention in this ebook to present exercise for performing musicians as a form of cross training. Whether you are playing an instrument or singing or lifting weights or running, these activities should be done with great posture, so you don’t sacrifice your body, and making music and exercise should enhance each other. This means that how you play your instrument or sing will affect how you exercise and visa versa. Perform on your instrument and exercise or do yoga, allowing all of these activities to enhance each other. In looking at running, swimming, yoga, and weightlifting in this ebook, I applied Alexandrian principles of great technique and good posture.

Ethan Kind is a former concert guitarist who used the Alexander Technique to heal carpal tunnel pain in his left wrist and never had physical problems on the guitar again. He has also been an athlete all of his life.
