Currently on the editorial boards of Safundi and English in Africa, she has been a fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS), the Institute for Black Atlantic Research (IBAR), the Centre for the Study of International Slavery (CSIS), the National Humanities Center (NHC) and the Library of Congress (LoC).
