About the Author

Prof. Dr Marc Helmold(MBA) is full-time professor at IU International University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. He teaches bachelor’s, master’s and M.B.A. courses in business management, operations management, lean management, quality management and leadership. He previously held several executive leadership positions at OEMs in the automotive, railway and aviation industries. Since 2016, he has been a professor at the IU International University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (Germany) and conducts lean, quality and leadership workshops in his own consultancy. Prof. Helmold has contributed to a wide range of publications.

Prof. Dr Ayse Kucuk Yilmazis a full-time professor at Eskisehir Technical University (ESTU), Türkiye, in the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She also served as Vice Dean for the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics from February 2015 to October 2020. Prof. Yilmaz completed a master’s degree in management and strategy and received her PhD from Anadolu University, Türkiye. She held the position of airport business manager at international Hasan Polatkan Airport in Eskisehir for 6 years. At ESTU, she teaches bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students in the Aviation Management and Pilotage Departments, including courses in management and organization, enterprise risk management, safety management systems, airport business and management, airline management, and strategic risk management. Her research interests include performance management, risk management, reputation risk, stakeholder relations, airport business management, culture, supply chain risk management, logistics management, and organizational behavior. She has authored several books and over fifty refereed journal articles.

Tracy Datheis a professor of business management at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences, Berlin, Germany. She is also an experienced finance professional. As CFO of a multinational medium-sized automotive supplier, she was responsible for overall commercial management at the German headquarters and the overseas subsidiaries in China, France, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Türkiye and the USA. Today, she also supports medium-sized companies as a management consultant.

Prof. Dr Florian Hummelhas been professor of strategic management and vice rector for international affairs at IU International University of Applied Sciences since 2017. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Brighton and a master’s degree from Cranfield University, UK. He wrote his doctoral thesis at the University of Sheffield on “An Analysis of the Impact of the Bologna Declaration on Higher and Vocational Education”. Prof. Hummel began his career in a large US company before moving to the higher education sector. In the last 20 years he has worked at various universities, as a professor, dean, vice president, and managing director. He has also been an external assessor at several British universities. His particular area of interest lies in international university cooperation and accreditation, including the development of double degree programs and articulation agreements.
